This is a great taste of some of the best attractions in the Central North Island of New Zealand. This is the combination of The Hobbiton Movie Set Tours, Waitomo Glowworm Caves and Te Puia Maori Cultural Centre.
You can start or finished where you want, maybe opting to start your adventure in the Shire, with a tour around the Hobbiton movie set in Matamata, home of the Lord of the Rings trilogy The Hobbit. The next stop could be Te Puia in Rotorua, where you’ll experience the bubbling, steaming geothermal wonders of the Whakarewarewa Valley. Explore the cultural centre and see carvings at work. In the evening join in the storytelling with an authentic Maori hangi and concert.
And finally, your adventure takes you to the Waitomo Glowworm Caves and Ruakuri Caves where you will head underground by boat via an underground river. You’ll see crystal and limestone formations over a million years old and of course tons of glowworms. Tickets are $277 per adult and $128 for children.
