McLean Falls Eco Motel & Holiday Park

Welcome to The Catlins, McLean Falls Eco Motels and Holiday Park. The Park with the heart! "Pamper-Camping" with attached purpose-built, Whistling Frog Cafe & Bar.

"Eco" - because in 1996, we planted a 3,000 acre, Kyoto compliant, carbon absorbing forest in the Tahakopa Valley, Catlins. This forest absorbs the carbon footprint created in the course of your NZ vacation. So travel with a clear conscience!

Your Catlins midpoint stopover, the perfect Scenic Hideaway and rendezvous, whilst you explore this special Coastal Rainforest region of Southland.  Take the newly sealed, S.H. 92 coastal loop from Invercargill or Balclutha. This unique portion of the Southern Scenic Route, is often referred to, as the 'Forgotten Coast'.

Allow yourself time to enjoy one of the least known and most  spectacularly rugged, scenic coastal journeys in NZ.  There are lots of walks and attractions along the way, including the Nuggets, 'HoiHo' Yellow-Eyed Penguins, Hector's Dolphins & a coastal Jurassic Petrified Forest. For other "what to see" ideas, visit our website:  www.catlinsnz.com

Treat yourself to a super comfortable bed or parksite, with privacy and elegance, the touch of nostalgia will make your stay memorable.

Bring your appetite, have a catchup with the locals and sample 'melt-in-your-mouth' specials, such as our very own ranch-raised, 'Texel Prime', Spit-Roasted lamb dinner or the world famous Bellbird Ranch Spit-Roasted lamb Sandwich for lunch. Delicious Soups, Salads, Capuccino, & Fresh Farm-baked Breads & cookies. The Catlins famous', Whistling Frog Cafe & Bar with cosy log fireplace and native wood interior will, nurture and restore!

Stay in touch.  Our satellite high-speed wireless internet will allow you to catch up with friends and family back home. Bring your laptop.

Country Club style amenities, include spacious, no-fee, tiled showers, well appointed gas kitchen & coin-op laundry. Trellis & planter segmented camper van parking spaces, give the feeling of privacy and protection. For a virtual tour of the Park view: www.catlinsnz.com

Native plants complete the Park landscape and attract native birds from the surrounding rainforest.  Our small, park residents, the reclusive Whistling Frogs will sing you off to sleep, after a big day of beachcombing, wildlife encounters & sightseeing. Ask about our self -guided glow-worm fern grotto tour at dusk, to finish off the perfect Catlins day! Many guests claim..  'It was the best night's sleep of the whole trip!'

Base yourself at the epicenter & closest park to many of the Catlins top attractions, including the mighty Cathedral Caves, spectacular McLean Falls, expansive and uncrowded, Tautuku boogie surf beach, Lake Wilkie, eco-dune lake and the Forest & Bird Wildlife Centre. Guests will often spend an extra night to allow time for all the sightseeing attractions that are within a few kilometres radius of our Park.

Relax, Refresh, Enjoy.

Can't wait to see you!

  Paul & Lynn.
